Not only is it happening in HK, its also happening in Canada: Thousands and thousands of International students who was from China, & had come to stay in Canada, they are going back to China in droves. And guess where a lot of their pets go? A lot of these students can't bring the pet back to Asia to their parents. Of course there are lots who DO bring their pets to move back to Asia. 👍 As long as they don't illegally smuggle the pet via HK, and do the export legally/properly, then its all good.
